FAQs

Below are questions we are frequently asked by first time patients at
North Jersey Professional Rehabilitation.

Q: Is there a lot of pain involved in physical rehabilitation?

A: Physical therapy interventions are conservative measures focused on treating problems such as loss of motion (stiffness), muscle weakness, and the gate/functional disturbances that accompany these problems.  While there may be some discomfort, we are always mindful that the body needs time to adapt to the therapy, which means that we do not push or rush the therapy beyond what is appropriate for your particular injury.

Q: What type of clothing should I wear to physical therapy?

A: Casual clothing will work.  Gym or physical fitness apparel would also be appropriate.  Just take a look at the images on the left side of this page to get an idea of what some of our patients wear when they come to North Jersey Professional Rehabilitation for physical therapy.

Q: How long does a physical therapy session last?

A: Physical therapy sessions are typically between 60 and 70 minutes in duration.

Q: How many patients will be in the North Jersey Professional Rehabilitation clinic during my therapy session?

A: This will depend on the time of day of your scheduled therapy.  There can be as many as four or five other patients in the clinic during your scheduled appointment.

Q: How many therapists will provide my treatment?

A: There can be a maximum of three therapists who may provide your treatment, and you can be certain that all of the therapists at North Jersey Professional Rehabilitation will provide the highest level of therapeutic care.
